How to Insert an Ellipsis With Open Office

    • 1). Start OpenOffice and load your document. Find and click the location for the ellipsis in the document.

    • 2). Click "Insert" then "Special Character." This opens the Special Characters window. At the top, it contains two drop-down menus: Font and Subset. The space beneath contains the special characters you can place in your document.

    • 3). Click the drop-down "Subset" menu. Choose "General Punctuation."

    • 4). Click the box with "..." -- an ellipsis.

    • 5). Click "OK" and OpenOffice will insert the ellipsis.
